Pre School
2019 saw the amalgamation of the Coomandook & Districts Kindergarten with the school. The early learning space, which we now call "The Coop", has been transformed to cater for children in Pre School (Kindergarten), Foundation ( Reception) and Year 1.
The focus at "The Coop" is on developing individual children according to what they need, who they are as a learner and how we can help them grow.
Our pedagogy involves strong anchoring in the following fields:
- Play based learning
- Inquiry based learning
- Outdoor learning - the environment as the "third educator".
Children who turn 4 before 1 May are eligible to start pre school at the beginning of the year before they start school.
Children are able to access a government funded Pre School for 1 year before they start school. If you are uncertain about the best time for your child to attend Pre School, or feel your child may benefit from starting pre school later, contact the school about your options.
