Presentation Night Awards

Presentation Night is a celebration of the wonderful successes that make Coomandook Area School unique. On this night we showcase the students’ work and their outstanding commitment to learning and service to our school. We congratulate and acknowledge all students for their educational and personal achievements for the year. The work of all students throughout the school is showcased at the Coomandook Hall with live performances by students and our annual awards presented on the night.

Criteria for Awards

Gold Certificates
  • All Rounder for year levels:
    • A Gold Certificate may be awarded to a student for a combination of: academic excellence, outstanding effort in a subject, outstanding team work and leadership skills and outstanding service to the School.  Only one person per year level can win this award.
  • Subject Winners
    • One person per subject can be awarded a Gold Certificate for academic excellence. If no student is considered outstanding by the faculty teachers, there won’t be an award.
CALTEX Best All Rounder Medallion & Certificate
  • The winner must be a Senior School student who has:
    • Shown scholastic achievements and efforts across all subjects
    • Provided service to the school
    • Been an active participant in school sport
    • Demonstrated excellent attitude and conduct
    • Been a positive role model for other students
Barker Shield
  • Awarded to three students who have achieved highly in the areas of: Community Service and Achievement, Academic Achievement and Agricultural Participation and Enterprise
Maxine Simmons Quiet Achiever Award
  • Senior student who strives to achieve. This financial award is to assist the recipient in their future study or chosen career

  • School Service

Tailem Bend Rotary Club
  • Outstanding Academic Achievement
Pam Tynan Memorial Award
  • Continual effort in all areas of schooling
VET Award
  • Highest achiever undertaking VET

Assemblies

Assemblies are hosted throughout the school year by all classes at Coomandook on Friday Week 5 and on the last day of school each term commencing half an hour before school dismissal. At each assembly students work is showcased and accomplishments are recognised with Teacher Achievement Certificates. Throughout the year special assemblies are held to recognised special student achievements such as; Premiers Reading and Be Active Challenges, Book Week, sporting achievements etc.

  • Teachers Achievement Certificates – awarded by teachers at each assembly for excellent effort through any aspect of their schooling

End of Semester Awards

Students who achieve highly in their end of semester reports are presented with either an Achievement or Merit Certificate
