Welcome to Coomandook Area School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Coomandook Area School, a proud R–12 school serving families across the Coorong and Mallee regions of South Australia. As Principal, I am honoured to lead a dedicated team of educators and support staff who are committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive education for every child.

Coomandook Area School offers a nurturing and personalised learning environment, where strong relationships underpin everything, we do. Our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience guide our daily interactions and form the foundation for a safe and positive school culture. We work in close partnership with our families and the broader community to ensure every student is supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

We are proud of the diverse opportunities available to students at Coomandook—from foundational literacy and numeracy in the early years through to a wide range of SACE, VET, and flexible learning pathways in the senior years. Our unique agricultural program, delivered through the school’s working farm, provides hands-on learning and leadership opportunities that reflect the strengths and values of our rural community.
We believe in every child’s potential and are committed to continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Our staff engage in collaborative professional learning and use data to tailor teaching to meet the needs of all learners. Across the site, students are encouraged to be curious, confident, and capable—prepared to make a positive contribution to their world.
